Closing Argument

This cocktail really does feel like it says all there is to say. An even blend of several very strong flavors, this cocktail manages to be very easy drinking. It requires a few ingredients on the more expensive side, but I’d say this cocktail is well worth the price of admission.

A Mezcal variation on the Last Word

Ingredients

  • 1 Lime
  • ~2 oz Mezcal
  • ~2 oz Luxardo Maraschino Liqueur
  • ~2 oz Green Chartreuse

Instructions

  1. Peel the lime for garnish (if you want to be fancy).
  2. Juice the lime and measure the amount of juice that you get, ideally between 1.5 to 2 oz, remember this amount.
  3. Add the lime juice to cocktail shaker.
  4. Recall the amount of juice you added to the shaker. Add the same amount of each Green Chartreuse, Maraschino liqueur, and Mezcal to the shaker.
  5. Shake for 15 seconds.
  6. Strain into a two Couple Glasses
  7. Remove any pith (the white stuff) from the lime peel, cut into long this strips
  8. Turn the strip into a tight spiral and pierce with cocktail pick for garnish, or just drop it in the drink, or cut a fancy butterfly or flower out of a lime peel and clip that to the side. This is your time to shine
